Mystery of Room 1046

"someone else is mixed up in this"

The strange occurrences in Room 1046 at the Hotel President in Kansas City, Missouri began in early January 1935, when a man going by the name ‘Roland T. Owen’ arrived and checked himself in for several night’s stay. The hotel maid had some unusual encounters with the young man, who exhibited odd behaviour throughout that day and the following morning. On the afternoon of January 4th, another guest overheard what sounded like a violent argument and scuffle, but never reported it to staff.

That same night the hotel elevator operator encountered a woman who claimed to be looking for Room 1026, and who was later seen in the company of an unknown man, both of whom left the next morning. The next day the telephone operator noticed the phone in Room 1046 was off the hook, and the bellboy was sent up to investigate. The horror he found that morning has remained unexplained, and there were very little clues left to understand the awful circumstances of what happened inside Room 1046.
