Some of the world’s most infamous serial killers have sent taunting letters to the police and media, often leaving a cryptic and mysterious meaning behind their murders. The Zodiac Killer sent letters coupled with ciphers for the authorites to solve, the Son of Sam send rambling letters with little coherence, while Jack the Ripper allegedly sent letters threatening more murders in the East End. But perhaps the most bizarre killer to send communications is possibly the one who is least remembered. The 3-X killer conducted a reign of terror on the residents of New York City during June 1930, claiming the lives of two men, and sent letters threatening to kill fourteen others. Then abruptly as it began, the killing spree ended, with little explanation for the curious event.
